Canine Myofunctional Therapy

What is it?

Canine Myofunctional Therapy, also known as Canine Massage Therapy is a gentle therapeutic treatment that combines remedial massage with passive range of motion exercises. Treatment is carried out by a professional therapist who has had extensive training in soft tissue diagnosis, analysis and assessment. Canine Myofunctional Therapy involves an holistic approach to treating the dog rather than just focusing on one muscle, limb or joint. Dogs have similar circulatory, respiratory, skeletal and muscular systems to humans and can enjoy similar therapeutic benefits.

Consultations

Consultations take place in the comfort and privacy of your own home and last around 1-1.5hrs. Dogs feel most comfortable when they are in their own environment and so the treatment will be far more effective. At  the beginning of each treatment I will acquire informtion regarding the dog's medical history and will also observe their gait, range of movement and make a soft tissue diagnosis. This is necessary in order to provide a treatment that it is safe and effective for your dog.
